We are missionaries, who been working in Venezuela for the past 17 years. Brent is a graduate
from Cincinnati Bible College and Seminary, now Cincinnati Christian University, where he received the Masters
of Divinity degree in Biblical Studies in 2002.
Yoisa is a stay-at-home-mom, who homeschools their 4 kids, Daniel, 17, Stephanie, 16, Andrea 14, and Christopher
12.
For the past 14 years we've been working in a city outside of Caracas, called Guatire. We have been involved
in various church plants since 1986, when Brent first went to Venezuela in an internship. He then returned to the States
to finish his education, returning to Venezuela in 1989 as a full time missionary. Brent and Yoisa were married in August
1990, and started their new ministry in La Dolorita, Petare, a small suburb in Caracas. After that church was started,
they moved to Guatire, in January of 1994, and began a new ministry there. After 6 years, a new church was born, Guatire
Christian Church. That is when we decided to return to USA for our extended fourlough, and Brent pursued his
Master degree. After two years in the U.S., we returned to Venezuela, to the same town in Guatire, to began yet another
church plant. After four years of work, three small groups were started, one in Caracas, with the leadership of
Steve and Priscilla Dye, one in Guatire, a small house church lead by Oscar Abreu, and another house church in the same town
where we started our ministry, 16 years ago, La Dolorita, lead by Rafael Rodriguez. We felt at this point that
a circle in our ministry have been drawn after all those years. Lots of dear friends, lots of sisters and brothers in
Christ, and the Joy of a work for the Lord. We know that our work is not even finished yet, and the Lord has lots of
things for us to do still, but at this moment we feel as if the Lord has been calling us to another land. As of
January of 2007 we started a new position with Mid-South Christian College, in Memphis, Tenneesse. We can not
express our gratitud to all the people in Venezuela who have been making our ministry a wonderful place to be, and we rejoice
in all the Lord has been blessing us in all this years. We hope to be able to continue to support the work in Venezuela
as much as we can from here, and to be able to return during the summers to take groups or to help in any other area our new
ministry will allow us to.
To all of you who have been so faithfully supportive of our Ministry, we want to say THANKS, and we still
are in need of your prayers and support as well as the people both in Venezuela and in Tennessee.
